Why vote in the primary elections? PDF Print E-mail

By voting in the primary elections, you help to determine the candidates representing the party on the ballot in the general election in November.  The 2010 elections officially will begin with the Illinois State Primary on February 2 and end on October 2 with Louisiana's primary.  To vote in the primaries most states require that voters identify their political party affiliation on their latest voter registration/absentee ballot request (i.e. Federal Post Card Application or FPCA form).
New! The law has recently changed to require overseas and military voters to re-register every election year
